

Vivek’s introduction to music was when he began learning vocal Carnatic ( South Indian classical ) music at the age of 5. However, even as a child he was interested in learning to play the violin and Mrs Katie Hayes graciously took him under her wing. He progressed swiftly with his Western Classical violin grades and completed his ABRSM Grade 8 with a distinction at the age of 10. Concurrently his love for Carnatic music also found expression in the violin and at 11 he was accepted as Sri V Sanjeev’s student. Sri V Sanjeev is a nationally acclaimed performing violinist and music composer.



Vivek began learning Carnatic Violin at the age of 9, under the guidance of the renowned musician Sri V. Sanjeev. As the sole disciple of his esteemed guru, Vivek continues to receive training and refinement under Sri Sanjeev's mentorship.
Vivek’s Arangetram was held in December 2023 at Ragasudha Hall, and the event was graced by the legendary Sangeetha Kalanidhi Kum. A. Kanyakumari. So far in his early career, Vivek has performed alongside esteemed musicians Sri Sikkil Gurucharan, Sri Patri Satish Kumar, Sri B.S. Purushottam and Sri J. Vaidhyanathan. He has also performed with vocalists Srirangam Venkata Nagarajan, Dr. Adesh Sundaresan and T.N. Arunagiri among others.



Vivek has an ever expanding concerto repertoire, having performed the Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn violin concertos with the Wycombe Festival Orchestra, with whom he is also scheduled to perform Prokofiev’s 2nd violin concerto. He is also an avid orchestral musician - a member of the South Asian Symphony Orchestra, Albion Orchestra, the Clio Project and more.
Vivek was a member of the National Youth Orchestra (2021-2024) and LPO Junior Artists program (2021). He won third prize at Rickmansworth Young Musician (2022) and received the Future Talents Robinson Award for three consecutive years.


Vivek had a productive debut season in 2024, performing for 8 sabhas including Naada Inbam, Kartik Fine Arts, Rasika Fine Arts and Lasya. He also performed ‘Kamba Ramayanam’ at Tamil Isai Sangam, alongside Sri Sikkil Gurucharan, Dr. Priya Ramachandran and Charulatha Chandrashekhar.
